PowerForward's labeling equipment includes two types of machines that offer benefits to the label industry: PowerStick, a label applicator that can be used both by your customers to apply labels at high speed and by you to manufacture specialty labels; and PowerBooklet, a machine for manufacturing booklet labels. Learn how you can:
Sell more labels
Produce booklet labels
Manufacture other specialty labels efficiently and reliably
PowerForward's technology can make the difference . . . for label manufacturers and their customers.
Selling More Labels With the PowerStick Advantage
Your customers need labels AND equipment to apply them. Our line of PowerStick label applicators is a new option specifically designed for high volume, high speed production environments. So your customers can add a PowerStick unit inline on any of their web processes.
Then they can apply any pressure-sensitive items (labels, booklets, game pieces, thin cards, closures, RFID) in any location on the page or package at web speed . . . opening up new opportunities for them and for you at volumes of potentially a half million labels per shift.
Manufacturing Booklet Labels (ECLs) If you produce booklet labels (or would like to) and are adding or replacing equipment, there are only a few options available. Investigate our PowerBooklet label machine. It's designed specifically for producing booklet labels, with several models available to ensure it meets your needs. (If you're new to the booklet label business, see our Success Tips.)
Your customers can now apply booklet labels inline on their print or packaging press using our PowerStick label applicator . . . an efficient method for adding booklets at any location on print material or packages that can expand your opportunities in the market.
Watch a PowerStick Applying Booklet Labels
The first video at the right shows a PowerStick unit applying booklet labels to a roll of newsprint. At slower speeds, it provides a clear view of the transfer mechanism. The high speed shown is 500 pieces per minute (30,000 per hour).
A second video is included that shows labels (the white dots) being applied on larger 2 inch blue base labels. This is an illustration of how you can use PowerStick to manufacture specialty labels as described in the next section below.
Manufacturing Specialty Labels
Specialty labels are often multiple layers - one pressure sensitive item on top of another. You can use the PowerStick applicator to apply the additional layers needed to create to your specialty labels. The same machine can be used for many types of specialty jobs. It can be mounted inline on your label press or off line on an inspection or rewind station. Feed the label web through the PowerStick when it's needed and bypass it when you're doing standard labels.
RFID Labels RFIDs are small, expensive and delicate. To create RFID labels, you can "sandwich" RFID wet inlays under labels at high speed with the right technology. With the PowerStick applicator on your web process, you can reposition the RFIDs on the liner and then apply the label web and die cut.
The PowerStick unit peels the RFIDs off their original liner and lays them down with more separation on the label liner. Then with a conventional lam/delam process, you can cover the RFID with your prime label. And the PowerStick can do this repositioning at very high speeds - 1000/min.
Labels on Labels
Now you can place a smaller label on a base label without having to do any trimming that wastes material. And you can do it at press speeds, keeping your production levels up.
Our PowerStick applicator can apply the smaller label - either on your web after you have printed the base label, or later on a rewind station during inspection.
Piggy-Back Labels
If you need an efficient, flexible method for putting removable labels on labels, you can add a PowerStick label applicator to your line. The PowerStick is software controlled, easy to set up and simple to change for the next run . . . reducing operator time and waste.
